For the role-playing game Sentients, I created an interactive character builder (requires free account) experience that makes it fast, easy and fun to design and customize new characters.
The app was developed with Next.js, utilizing a React frontend, static page generation, Node backend, and MongoDB database.
Foremost among the app’s features is a simple but highly effective drag-and- drop mechanism for adding “Components” to your character’s hardware modules. This was accomplished with the very useful React DnD library.
The app also includes helpful search and filtering functions that aid the user in browsing through the 60+ character components available to them.
